Congratulations are in order for SSOC (South Side Office of Concern) on the closing of their new development! The new permanent housing units will be located in downtown Peoria, IL and will be rehabilitating 202 NE Madison.
The Madison Avenue Apartments will include 10 units, a mixture of 8 one bedroom (603 square feet) and 2 two bedroom (820 square feet) apartments.
Downtown Peoria was chosen due to the close proximity of restaurants, grocery and retail shops, transportation, healthcare facilities and recreational activities. This development is nearly 10,000 square feet and will include on-site case management and supportive services staff.
The residents will benefit from services offered on the lower levels, laundry facilities and a communal library.
“A recent marketing study commissioned by SSOC found that there are less than 2,000 units of affordable housing in Peoria while there are more than 15,000 income qualified households for affordable housing. SSOC’s newest housing development will help our community move towards closing that gap.” President/CEO Christine Kahl
