Christian County Integrated Community Services (CCICS), an Illinois 501(c)(3) organization, was formed by the Housing Authority of Christian County to address the changing environment in public housing funding. CCICS is now a separate entity from the Housing Authority and its mission is to set the standard for excellence in providing affordable, decent, safe, and sanitary housing to people who experience barriers to housing because of income, disability, or special needs. Over the past decade, and in partnership with LGG, it has transformed all of Christian County’s public housing inventory into PBV and RAD units, as well as development more than a hundred affordable tax credit units of family housing.
The Berkshires is a 24-unit townhome development located on Route 104 in Taylorville, Illinois, developed by County Integrated Community Services (CCICS) and Siegrist Builders, co-developed in 2010 with stimulus money provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The project contains two and three bedroom units. The project is located between a HUD 202 building and a supportive housing development, also developed by CCICS. The project is close to schools and a Wal-Mart Supercenter.
