Lead Developer: The Illinois Association of Community Action Agencies (IACAA) is a membership organization that provides a unified voice and support to the poverty-fighting network of Community Action Agencies in Illinois. Since 1990, IACAA has delivered technical assistance to providers of homeless services, and to homeless families and individuals in partnership with the Illinois Department of Human Services, Bureau of Basic Support (the Bureau) under the Emergency and Transitional Housing Program.
Co-Developer: East Central Illinois Community Action Agency (ECICAA) has developed and operated family rental units since the early 1980s. Four decades ago the agency started its housing programs by purchasing homes in distressed condition and rehabilitating them. Since the beginning of their first affordable rental projects, ECICAA has progressed to working on other housing developments.
PROJECT INFO:
Prairie Meadows is a housing development which offers twenty-five (25) units of single family living for families on approximately ten (10) acres of land in Hoopeston, Illinois. Out of the 10 acre development there is a 1 acre park located in the middle of the development. The subdivision has a unit mix of two and three bedroom single family dwellings ranging from approximately 1045 square feet to 1331 square feet which caters to low and moderate-income seniors and families. The project sponsor has developed a homeownership plan for the units in 20 years.
